    Mobility equipment distribution and production

    Through technical aids, production workshops, adaptation of public spaces, distribution and repair offices, arcenciel aims to help people with disability become more autonomous and independent.

    arcenciel provides those services to all those in need. Financial barriers do not limit the people with disability access to crucial services.

    Each patient is treated with particular attention. arcenciel implements custom made solutions and well-rounded support to every patient.

    Working with the Ministry of Social Affairs, arcenciel founded “Accès et Droit”, which single handedly passed governmental policy, Law 220, which financially and socially protects all people living with disabilities in Lebanon.

     

    TECHNICAL AID DISTRIBUTION OFFICE

    This section receives beneficiaries and provides adequate equipment or redirects them to the relevant departments.

    arcenciel tries to serve the maximum amount of people in the most efficient amount of time. If able, patients can cover part of the cost of the service; if unable, arcenciel covers the cost.

    arcenciel believes that finances should not create barriers to necessary services.

    The Ministry of Social Affairs partly covers the products delivered by arcenciel through the “Accès et Droit” social coverage program.

    The offices are located in Jisr el Wati, Halba and Taanayel.

     

    PRODUCTION WORKSHOP

    The workshop mass produces mobility equipment for people with disability.  Mobility equipment includes wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, standing frames, custom seats and more.

    CUSTOMIZED PRODUCTION WORKSHOP

    This production workshop takes into account the importance of its beneficiaries’ specific needs and thus provides customized equipment like orthopedic shoes, corset seat and plastic corset seat.

     

    REPAIR OF DAMAGED TECHNICAL AIDS

    arcenciel also provides mechanical and electrical repairs for all mobility equipment. Worn out items are often recycled or repurposed in order to reduce waste.

     

    LIFE SPACE ADAPTATION

    In order to provide a complete service, following a home visit, adaptations are made to cater to the needs of the person: ramp (slope), widening doors, modifying a bathroom, installation of railings and elevators, etc.
