Mobility and Health participates in the social reintegration of people in need,
focusing on those living with disabilities.
It supports people through their entire recovery process by providing diverse health consultations, distributing mobility equipment and adapting living spaces.
In 1994, Mobility and Health created the division “Accès et Droit” within the Ministry of Social Affairs. The division single-handedly passed governmental policy, Law 220, that financially and socially protects all Lebanese people with disability.
In 1985, amidst the Lebanese civil war, five friends take action and begin thinking of ways to support the increasing number of Lebanese people living with war-related physical disabilities. In response, arcenciel launches the Mobility and Health program
The first physical therapy and medical consultations unit opens its doors in the Jisr el Wati center in Beirut.
The program creates its own mobility equipment production center.
arcenciel and the Ministry of Social Affairs launch the « Rights and Access » national program for social security coverage and institutional representation of disabled people.
The program extends its activity and impact by establishing units in Halba, Taanayel and Marjayoun
« Rights and Access » program passes Bill 220. The bill enables people with disabilities to be reimbursed for all or part of their mobility equipment and various treatments. It imposes a quota requiring companies to hire a minimum number of disabled people.
